Can you become a hypnotherapist?

You may have been asking yourself that question... can you really see yourself becoming a hypnotherapist? Will you like the techniques, the process, the client relationships? These are all unknowns until to you take yourself to the next step.  We outline a few top queries we receive in this topic and ways we can help solve this for you.

First of all... What is Hypnotherapy?

When using hypnosis, we are dealing with the unconscious mind more than the conscious, rational mind. Most people’s problems don’t make rational sense. We know it is not an appropriate response but we do it anyway. That is because the response is emotionally based. Hypnotherapy works with the unconscious or “emotional” mind where the problem resides, rather than trying to go through the conscious mind. It therefore deals with the problem at the source.Hypnosis is a powerful therapeutic tool, but there is more than one way of going about hypnotherapy. There is traditional, modern, permissive, directive, new age, conversational, cognitive - how do you decide which approach will be right for you?

Why should I study a particular style of Hypnotherapy?

At AICH, we believe in only focusing on techniques and approaches that are proven to get results. We focus on modern Ericksonian hypnosis and the language of hypnotic communication without getting stuck on reading scripts. This allows our graduates achieve better results on a broader range of clients than the average hypnotherapist.

The therapy part of hypnotherapy is also important to create real change. We teach Cognitive hypnotherapy, working with a person’s thought processes to resolve behavioural and emotional problems. You will learn:

·       A unique system to break down and address any problem that your clients present with
·       To create positive change in a shorter period of time
·       Solution oriented therapy techniques to provide a customised outcome for every client
·
Strategic questioning to avoid spending therapy time on unnecessary contentEssentially, you are a facilitator in your clients’ healing, guiding them to adopt healthier habits and change their thinking to promote positive change.

What makes a good Hypnotherapist?

  • Caring and keen to make a difference in the world
  • Curious about the human mind and spirit
  • Goal-oriented and able to find solutions to problems
  • Flexible in their thinking and has resolved issues in their life
  • Able to work independently without much supervision
  • Organised and proactive when running a practice

How do I start working as a Hypnotherapist at the end of the course?

This forms many of our queries in the lead up to starting the course, its a fear of the unknown, however we take many steps during the course to prepare you to enter the world as a qualified and accredited Hypnotherapist at the successful completion of your course.
